Following our successful food bank collection at Christmas last year, the JFA are running the initiative again in partnership with Maldon & Tiptree and Heybridge Swifts.
We will be running a single day for collections and this will take place on Monday 29th August, when the Jammers welcome local rivals, Heybridge Swifts to Park Drive. The collection point will be located outside of the turnstiles on the block-paved area.
The donations collected will then be delivered to the Maldon Food Pantry.
Commenting on the news, JFA Chair, Tony Williams said “The collection was a huge success and we know it made a huge impact on people’s lives. The donations we received were overwhelming and if we can to emulate the efforts from last time, that will be amazing.
People’s lives have changed in 2022 and the cost of living crisis facing so many families at the moment has been well documented in the press. Therefore, this collection is needed now more than ever and I am delighted we have received the support of both Maldon & Tiptree FC and from our friends at Heybridge Swifts.”
On the day of the match, the collection point will be open from 13:00hrs onwards and will close shortly before kick-off. Anyone wishing to make a donation to the cause outside of these times should contact Tony Williams directly.
